NBA Finals Preview

NBA Finals 2021 Preview

With the Phoenix Suns stamping their ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993 the question is who will they be playing? The current Eastern Conference final is tied at 2-2 of the best of 7 series. Both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks have injuries that are heavily impacting their teams. The Hawks star point guard Tre Young is out with an ankle injury from rolling his ankle on a referees foot in game 3. The Bucks superstar and 2x NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo had a scary and hard to watch injury on his knee which caused him to leave game 4 and now is currently questionable for the next game. I believe this series will come down to who can come back faster from injury, if they can come back at all. Game 5 might be a battle between who can win with their superstar on the bench injured. I think the Bucks will emerge from the Eastern Conference and challenge the Suns in the NBA Finals. I feel that Giannis will be able to come back soon and without Tre Young, the young and inexperienced Hawks will struggle to beat the playoff experienced Bucks and their secondary superstar Kris Middleton.

Based on the Bucks advancing, if Giannis can stay healthy, the NBA Finals would be very exciting and entertaining. The Phoenix Suns with their young 1-2 punch of Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton and with the veteran experience of superstar Chris Paul are going to be a tough team to beat in the Finals. The Suns have been playing unbelievable basketball and have already eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and the Los Angeles Clippers. Even with a completely healthy team, which I don't think Milwaukee will have, they don't have the firepower to deal with the Suns. The Suns are more healthy and are already resting / waiting around for the winners of the Eastern Conference. The Phoenix Suns will be fully charged up and rested while the Bucks will have little to no turnaround time if they win to start the NBA Finals. It is a great feel good basketball story for Chris Paul after a legendary career to finally get to the NBA Finals and he has great odds to win it with the Suns.
